Cyberbullying & Sexting

Lafourche Parish Sheriff Craig Webre, Superintendent of Schools, Jo Ann Matthews, and District Attorney Camille A. Morvant, II, are warning parents and children about the dangers of sending or receiving explicit photos or messages through texting and social media as part of a new public awareness campaign. The campaign is designed to educate citizens about the social and legal consequences associated with crimes like “sexting” and “cyberbullying,” and to encourage parents to pay attention to what their children are doing online.  More information on cyberbully and sexting can be found on the Lafourche Parish School District Website Homepage as well as on the Office of Child Welfare and Attendance Website.  If you have any further questions and/or concerns please contact our office.

Register for a chance to win a kindle!

Dear Parents:

Lafourche Parish School District has partnered with Successful Innovations, Inc. to deliver high quality, on-demand parent training videos as a free resource to support their children in the classroom. Videos are easily accessible by phone, computer, or tablet. The website below was given to you at Open House on a little green strip of paper by Allison Passman, our Professional School Counselor. If you already registered, thank you. If not, please take a few minutes to do so. See Steps to Register to begin the process.  Once registered, you can access a library of how-to videos with exercises and activities to help accelerate your child’s learning in the comfort of your home. By partnering with parents, we can reach our goal of developing life long learners. As an incentive, one lucky person who registers from our school could win a kindle the week before Thanksgiving. We hope you enjoy some of the videos available from Family Engagement On Demand.
